The full featured Khamsin series is detailed for all-purpose mountaineering usability. Each pack is detailed with technical mountaineering features and made with lightweight durable materials that shed snow and take abuse. Ideal for gear laden daytrips and overnight forays into the alpine, the Khasmin 50 is a well balanced mid-sized mountaineering pack. Loaded with alpine features and highly strippable, this pack can deliver a payload and then be compressed for a close to the body fit when traveling light to the summit. Features: Snow shedding fabrics: Slick faced and DWR treated materials keep precipitation from building upon the pack, eliminating extra snow weight and moisture build-up Anti-barreling frame members: Composite horizontal frame members are connected internallu to the compression straps, keeping the pack from barreling when compressed. They function independent of the removable framesheet, and ensure the pack maintains a low profile. Front pocket: A Hypalon reinforced folding pocket that expands to hold crampons, helmet and outerwear on the approach, then compresses flat in alpine mode. Axio: Fast and easy to use with gloves, the anodized aluminum tube slides through the eye or over the head of any ice tool and is locked securely with a Velcro closure Floating & removable top lid: Designed to be floating, this lid allows for vertical expansion or contraction as the pack's volume dictates. The underside is intended for hydration bladders and includes a hose port with a Velcro closure. Removable frame sheet: Removable to shed weight and made with HDPE and EV50 foam, this dual density framesheet unfolds to become an emergency insulated bivouac pad with high-visibility colouring for signaling others. Side access zipper pulls: A strong #8 WaterTight zipper provides quick access to gear with the added advantage of having a weatherproof seal. Gear loop: These injection moulded Polyurethane gear loops keep critical climbing gear handy, and are reversible and even removable. In sub-zero- conditions they remain felxible.
